Competency Based Interviewing Training

Course overview

Course overview

Building an organization is labor of love. It’s forward looking and rewarding, its challenging and fulfilling and above all it’s an investment of time and emotions. At one level it is the founder’s vision and values and at another level it is a structure that creates and delivers value. What brings all this together are the people who breathe life into the organization.

The people we hire, directly influence the legacy we build, the culture we create and determine the success and failure of the organization. It is therefore apt to say that people are an organizations most valuable assets and it is every business owner and leaders’ constant endeavor to have the right person, for the right job at the right time. This is easier said than done.

In 1997 McKinsey published a groundbreaking report on the “War for talent” as a strategic business challenge and a critical driver for corporate performance. For over the last two decades the socio-economic, technological and political forces have not only intensified the situation, they have established that the war for talent cannot be won by hiring gimmicks. It can only be won when we move beyond short-term hiring tactics and focus on long term talent acquisition, talent development and talent management strategies.

In view of the above, the Competency Based Interviewing Skills is a powerful tool. The value of Competency Based Interviewing Skills lies in its diversified use. This learnable skill can be used for hiring, promotions, job rotations and succession plans.
